Science Direct Downtime

One of our major e-journal providers will be down over the bank holiday weekend to implement new upgrades that will improve their service.  The downtime will affect SciVerse products, which include Science Direct journal articles.  The outage is schedule from 12pm on  Saturday, 25 August 2012 until around 8am on Sunday, 26 August, 2012.   If you attempt to access an article in an e-journal during this downtime, you will receive an error message and we ask that you do not report this unless it is outside the downtime hours.  If you access a Science Direct provided journal after the downtime, you may notice several changes to the layout.  Academic Liaison Librarians will be available from Tuesday to guide you through the new layout should you need assistance.

Reminder: Summer Hours

Just a reminder to all YSJ library users out there that we are currently on our vacation hours until September.    Please make sure you check opening hours before coming in.  For those who need to return items, locked book boxes are available near the library entrance.  

Normal (28-day) loan items are now being issued or renewed until September. However, loan periods for 7-day items are not changing, so you will need to renew them online or by phone if you're going to be away. Be aware, though, that you may not be able to renew an item if another user has placed a hold on it.
