Easter Vacation - 7 day loans

From Friday 15 March you will be able to borrow or renew a 7 day loan item and it will be due for return or renewal on 19 April.

2013 ILS Clinics now available

We now have a range of dates for our ever popular ILS Clinics available until March. Come along and get advice (and chocolate) on referencing, finding information for your assignments, uploading assessments in Moodle, and more.  There is no need to book just look out for our clinic signs in Fountains and ask one of our friendly staff for help:

Food and drink in Fountains

Hot and cold food may be eaten on the ground floor of the learning centre. Please only take drinks and sweets onto the other floors.

We have made this change in response to feedback. Some of you have told us you wanted to be able to bring hot food into the library again, but others have said that this didn't make the learning centre a good place to work. By compromising, and making the first and second floors food-free areas, we hope we can meet the needs of all users.

If you are eating or drinking in the learning centre, please clear up afterwards. If you have any questions or feedback, please add a comment, contact us, or speak to staff at the QuestionPoint.

Please do not bring hot food into the library

In response to feedback, hot food is no longer allowed in the library or IT areas in Fountains Learning Centre.

It is still OK to bring cold snacks and drinks into the Learning Centre, but please respect others and tidy up after yourself before you leave.

Areas for quiet working in the Library

Following much feedback on noise in Fountains Learning Centre, the second floor has now been designated as a silent study area.

Please use this area for quiet work and reading, and respect others who are wanting to work in silence. Use another area, if you want to socialise or hold discussions. You can, of course, also use the Quiet Study Room on the first floor for quiet working.

Please let staff at the ground floor Question Point know, if there is too much noise in these areas.
